Archery has always been closely connected to human history. The bow is believed to date back to the Stone Age, and over time it spread across the world as both a hunting tool and a weapon. Long before it became a modern sport, people were already testing skill, control, and precision with bows and arrows.

Today, archery is one of the few sports that truly works across generations. It can be practised by teenagers, adults, and older beginners alike. In many parts of the world, children start very young. At our club, we usually welcome new members from the age of 12.

What does archery teach? First of all, focus, control, patience, and discipline. It is a sport built on respect, safety, and responsibility. Those values matter just as much as accuracy.

That same philosophy shapes our club, Klaipėdos lankininkai. Based in Smiltynė, Klaipėda, we have been operating since 2014 and continue a much older local tradition of archery in this area.

We teach Olympic recurve archery to people roughly aged 12 to 80. Training sessions are led by three experienced coaches and instructors with many years of competition and coaching behind them.
