Our renewed website: get ready for your first archery session
Before your first archery session, you probably have a few practical questions: do we welcome complete beginners, do you need your own bow, and how do you arrange a visit? Our renewed Klaipėda Archers website brings those answers together with an introduction to the club and useful reading. It is a starting point for curious newcomers and for families considering an activity for a teenager.
We renewed the website with our website partner Web Aloha, replacing the previous WordPress site with one built using Astro. For our club, the purpose of that work is practical: making our information easy to reach on a phone before travelling to training, at home while reading about equipment, or whenever you want to get in touch.
From your first question to your first session
Start with our beginner’s guide to archery. It introduces different bows, the first training session and basic safety rules. You do not need to rush into buying a bow before visiting: we provide training equipment for your first sessions. Reading ahead gives you a useful starting point and helps you bring specific questions to the coach.
Families can explore our guide to archery for children and teenagers. It covers what training involves, suitable clothing and safety. Please discuss your child’s circumstances and available options with the club. The article helps you prepare for that conversation; individual questions are best answered together.
Our About page introduces the club and explains our seasonal training locations. We train in Smiltynė during the warmer months and move indoors for the colder season. Check the information and contact us before travelling so that we can agree on a suitable time. The introduction is also useful for experienced archers looking for a community in Klaipėda.
The Contact page brings together our phone number, email, enquiry form and frequently asked questions. Your first trial session is free; please arrange group or individual training with us in advance. The form lets you send a message to the club, and we will confirm the details of your visit when we reply.
Three languages, connected pages
You can read the website in Lithuanian, English and Russian. The language links lead to the equivalent page, so you can switch to a translation while reading an article. That is useful for families who speak different languages at home and for visitors to Klaipėda who want to understand how training works before contacting us.
Clear headings, consistent links and layouts that adapt to different screens help visitors find what they need. On a phone, that means readable answers and accessible contact details. On a larger screen, there is room to explore the club’s story, articles and training photographs comfortably.
A simpler foundation for the club website
Astro prepares our public information pages in advance. These prepared pages can be delivered to visitors without a running WordPress installation, PHP runtime or content database. This removes the website’s reliance on maintaining WordPress core, themes and plugins. Our contact form still uses a separate server function, which needs care alongside the rest of the infrastructure.
Having fewer active content-management components reduces the number of those components that could develop vulnerabilities. The site also uses HTTPS and a content security policy that restricts permitted resource sources. These are concrete safeguards, while software updates, access protection and ongoing maintenance remain necessary.
Information that can be read and discovered
Page content is delivered as HTML. A sitemap, language links and structured data help search engines understand our club information. Clear, accessible text can also help AI-powered search tools interpret a page. These features support discovery; they do not guarantee higher rankings or mentions in AI answers.
The website’s role is straightforward: helping you take the first step towards the shooting line. Read the guide that fits your questions, get to know the club, and tell us when you would like to try archery.
What Google PageSpeed Insights measured
On 14 September 2026, we tested the public homepage at https://klaipedoslankininkai.lt/ twice. These are Lighthouse laboratory tests in Google PageSpeed Insights, rather than measurements of every visitor’s experience. The reports had no CrUX user data.
| Device | Run | Performance | LCP |
|---|---|---|---|
| Desktop | 1 | 99/100 | 0.7 s |
| Desktop | 2 | 99/100 | 0.9 s |
| Mobile | 1 | 82/100 | 4.1 s |
| Mobile | 2 | 94/100 | 2.8 s |
Desktop performance scored 99/100 in both runs. Mobile scores ranged from 82 to 94/100, with Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) between 2.8 and 4.1 seconds, leaving room to improve the mobile experience. The mobile test emulated a Moto G Power on slow 4G; real devices and connections can produce different results. We have no comparable measurement of the previous WordPress site, so we do not claim a percentage speed improvement.
